There are times people struggle with layering patterns and colours to great effect. Having said that, this can still be done but most times it requires the use of the monochrome colours such as black and white to compensate the use of bold and bright colours.
However, going for the one colour look is a great way to streamline your attire, which then accommodates layers and accessories of different patterns and colours. As long as the one colour look is the prominent part of the outfit, you will easily remain elegant and attain your classy feel. As they say, less is more and in this instance it allows you do more than you’ll usually feel comfortable with. Combining colours of the same tone as your top and bottom choice creates a minimal and well-crafted outfit.
I chose grey as my one colour choice and this allowed me incorporate bold patterns and textures into the outfit as well as a slight variation of colours. The shearling coat’s texture and material makes it a luxurious choice and can work on its own but pairing it with a bold camouflage biker was an easy combination as it was still outclassed by the one colour combination. I wrapped this up with the most classy boots out there – the chelsea boots.
What other ways have you used the one colour look to intensify the outcome of any attire.
What I am wearing:
- Shearling Coat – Mango
- Roll Neck – Marks and Spencer
- Trousers – REISS
- Biker Jacket – ALLSAINTS
- Chelsea Boots – House of Fraser
